SAY CHES! A Fundraiser for Chessy

SAY CHES - UPDATE 3

Hi everyone!

A lot of things needed to be done to get Chessy’s teeth healthy again and her vet bill was a bit higher than expected. Even though we weren’t able to come up with the funding goal of 15,000PHP, your donations were a ginormous help. Pooling in what I have saved up plus your generous contribution, Chessy was able to get her dental surgery! Yay!

She had seventeen of her teeth extracted, most of them are the toofs in front. She still has her canines and molars which are all squeaky clean, too. She’s now home, recovering from her surgery, eating ground meat with veggies as part of her soft food diet, and is taking antibiotics. More importantly, her winning smile is back! She can say “Ches!” again.

Everything wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for your help.Thank you for saying “Ches!”. If you have donated at least 500PHP, don’t forget to send me a photo of you and your fur-babies for your artwork.

You have all been a huge blessing to me and my Chessy. Words cannot even express how thankful I am. You have helped me save my fur-baby from the ouchies.

Maraming, maraming salamat po.

SAY CHES - UPDATE 2.jpg
Hi everyone! As I’ve mentioned in my previous update, Chessy was scheduled to have her blood tests done because of your help. (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1546642838730734&set=pb.100001550971914.-2207520000.1504435896.&type=3&theater ) Here are some photos of her when she was on her way and at the vet. She was really nervous during her check-up. Luckily, everyone at the vet was really caring and made sure that Chessy stayed calm and relaxed while she was there.

When we were there, the vet asked us why Chessy seemed bloated. We thought that maybe she had something other than her dental problems which caused her breath to smell a bit foul. I got scared, but good thing her blood tests were all good and she was cleared of other sicknesses aside from the dental issues.

We have reached the half-way mark of our funding goal and if you still want to help out and say “Say Ches” you can check out this link,https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1541431905918494&set=pb.100001550971914.-2207520000.1504436877.&type=3&theater .

Again, I would want to thank everyone, those who shared the fundraiser and of course, to those who have donated in order to get Chessy better.

I would want to remind those who have donated at least 500PHP to send me a photo of you and your fur-babies, so I can create something to say thank you.

Maraming, maraming, maraming salamat.

ORIGINAL POST:

SAY CHES POSTER 1.jpg

Good day! I’m sorry to bother all of you, but I just wanted to ask for a little bit of help. For quite some time now, I have been rescuing and taking care of stray cats and dogs along our area in Pasig. I currently have seven cats and three dogs. Having a pet is very costly and I have been working extra hard to be able to provide for all my fur-babies. However, there are times when a huge sum of money is needed in order to keep them healthy.

A few months ago, we noticed that one of my senior dogs, Chessy, was excessively salivating and her saliva had a very foul odor. We rushed her to the vet and found out that she is starting to develop a gum disease due to tooth decay. She’s been a stray most of her life and she needed to munch on different types of garbage in order to survive. The vet said that this might have caused terrible damage to her teeth and is now causing her pain. She was initially given medication to ease the pain and for a while it got better. Now the ouchies are back, she is starting to salivate again and is having a hard time eating.

The vet said she needs to get multiple tooth extractions and root canals before things get worse. We were given a rough estimate of how much the entire dental surgery would cost and it would reach about 15,000 PHP (inclusive of all the tests needed prior to the surgery).

Sadly, I cannot afford it. I am launching a fundraiser called “SAY CHES! A Fundraiser for Chessy” to be able to help get Chessy’s winning smile back (even if she would have less teeth). I wanted to reach out to you and maybe you can help me out. Any amount no matter how small would be a very big help.

Chessy or Ches-Wes was rescued last 2014. She’s been a stray for most of her life and due to scavenging for food and munching on garbage to survive, her teeth got damaged and started to cause her pain. She’s been seen by her vet and has taken the prescribed medication to lessen the pain. For a while, things got better, but now, she and her family need help in raising funds to afford the multiple tooth extractions and root canals to get rid of the ouchies for good.
Get a “Say Ches!” artwork of you and one of your pets when you donate at least 500 pesos.

We hope you can help us get Chessy’s winning smile back!
